| | In Memoriam: Don ByersAugust 23, 2010 Terrace Hill lost a guardian angel when Donald C. Byers passed away on June 5, 2010. The former General Counsel and Secretary for Maytag from 1974 1990 was a dynamic leader and champion fundraiser for numerous Newton community, Jasper County, state and national organizations. Through his leadership and commitment, Byers elevated the quality of life for Iowans in many areas, including the arts, education, law and historic preservation. He served as president of the Terrace Hill Foundation during the Legacy for Iowans capital campaign, which concluded ten years ago.
