Mardi GrasBy Jacqueline Devine January 26, 2010 You and your guests are invited to party for the second time for three of the best causes in central Iowa: Terrace Hill, Hoyt Sherman Place and Salisbury House & Gardens.
On February 20, central Iowas three great historic homes are collaborating for the second time to celebrate Mardi Gras in grand style. It promises to be the most fun youll have all year!
Take the streetcar shuttle from Hoyt Sherman Place to the reception of your choice: Terrace Hill or Salisbury House. Enjoy French Quarter cocktails and Cajun food with live New Orleans-style music (underwritten by Holmes Murphy & Associates) in these two historic homes while you mix with fun-loving people.
Next, shuttle to Hoyt Sherman Place for a brief, but WOW, live auction. Applaud the King and Queen of Mardi Gras, Frank Fogarty and Connie Wimer. Then head into the lavishly restored theater for the best seats in the house and a rocking concert by The Radiators live from New Orleans, Louisianas Swamp Rock sensation.
The bar stays open before, during and after the concert, and there will be room for dancing in front of the stage. After the concert, enjoy a traditional New Orleans-style brunch in the beautiful art gallery of Hoyt Sherman Place.
Three grand houses. One hot night.
Mardi Gras costumes optional.
