Teas with a Twist

After nearly ten successful years of Teas at Terrace Hill, the Foundation staff and Tea volunteers have decided to add a new twist to the monthly events that some describe as being as refreshing as a visit to a spa.

At the time of this publication, a few details are still in the works, so call to confirm dates and times. Reservations are being taken already for the 2010 calendar. APRIL 19 1950s-Style Coffee. Find a vintage hat from the era of I Love Lucy and wear it to coffee at Terrace Hill, or come without at 10:30 a.m. This twist on the Teas will recall the get-togethers of post World War II. Coffee and desserts will be served up with hospitality and 1950s trivia. A mini-style show of vintage clothing will recall another era at Terrace Hill. Even if it was before your time, its an event to be experienced at Terrace Hill. Reservations: $35 per person.

MAY 10 Mothers Day Tea. Honor your mother or grandmother by bringing her to this day-after the official holiday. (What a great gift idea!) This traditional Tea at Terrace Hill will include a program of tales on the subject of motherhood by professional story-teller Maureen Korte. Anticipating popular demand, two times are being offered: 11:30 and 2:30 sittings. Reservations: $35 per person.

JUNE 21 Tea Tasting. Sample exotic teas and learn about pairing them with appropriate foods to maximize enjoyment. This twist on the traditional Tea at Terrace Hill will appeal to the taste buds and expand appreciation for the history of tea. Program presented by Gong Fu Tea. Reservations: $35 per person.

JULY 23 Courtyard Combo. Combine live music, regional wines, great hors douevres, and the ambiance of the carriage house courtyard for an after-hours Friday night get-together that is unmatched for appeal. Reservations: TBD.

SEPTEMBER 20 Bridge Tournament. Compete for the Terrace Hill Tournament trophy and enjoy an afternoon of intelligent play. Refreshments will be served. Limited to 10 tables of four. Reservations: TBD.

DECEMBER 13 & 14 Holiday Teas. Reserve months in advance for what may be the most popular event of the year. Two Teas are scheduled for Monday (11:30 and 2:30 sittings) and one for 2:30 only on Tuesday. Enjoy the splendor of Terrace Hill at its holiday best during this traditional Tea at Terrace Hill. Reservations: $35 per person.
