Twain at Terrace Hill

March 27, 2008

Mark Twain is coming to Terrace Hill in June. And he’s bringing a riverboat-load of fun!

The third season of Victorian Voices provides a fresh look into the minds, manners and mores of men and women who lived at the time when Terrace Hill was new. This original drama by award-winning Iowa playwright Lorenzo Sandoval will present the great American humorist in the company of his family and famous contemporaries.

The play will be staged on the southwest lawn of Terrace Hill, near the carriage house, on the evenings of June 13, 14, 15, 20, 21 and 22. A special premiere performance event is planned for June 12.

Victorian Voices: Twain at Twilight is underwritten by a grant from BRAVO Greater Des Moines and by Wellmark Blue Cross and Blue Shield. Tickets include refreshments. Call 515-280-3450 to reserve your place at this world-premiere play.

Proceeds from this and all other Terrace Hill Foundation events help support the restoration, maintenance and development of Terrace Hill as a premier National Historic Landmark and as an educational and cultural center for current and future generations.
