2008 Terrace Hill Endowment for the Musical Arts Competition Announced

The Terrace Hill Endowment for the Musical Arts [THEMA] piano competition is held annually and is open to high school seniors studying music throughout the state. Winners are awarded scholarships to be used to pursue college-level music studies in Iowa the following year. The purpose of the award is to promote Iowa’s young musicians and the outstanding collegiate music programs statewide.
The next THEMA competition will take place on Friday and Saturday, February 15 and 16, 2008. Although the Junior Competition has now filled, we are still accepting entries for the Senior Competition. Entries for the Senior Competition must be postmarked by January 11. For more information on applying to THEMA, please call 515-281-3604 or send an e-mail to erin.delcollo@iowa.gov.
The finals of the senior competition, held at the studios of Iowa Public Television on Saturday, February 16, 2008, will be free and open to the public. Please call Friends of IPTV at 515-242-5400 or 1-800-728-2828 to reserve the free tickets.
