Terrace Hill in the News

2006

We hope you’ve been seeing and hearing a lot more about Terrace Hill lately. For the past three years, we’ve been working on increasing visibility of Terrace Hill and its programs. To promote events, Terrace Hill staff have been on every television station in Des Moines and have been regularly heard on KIOA radio in the morning with Maxwell and Polly. In addition, articles on Holly & Ivy decorations, Terrace Hill volunteers, the new garden pergola, Victorian Day Camp and “Scare Us” Hill have appeared in The Des Moines Register. Additional promotion of Terrace Hill has been received from:

  • Photos of the Academic All-State students in a feature section in The Des Moines Register on April 30, 2006.
  • A cover feature in 50 Plus Lifestyles on Jacqueline Devine, development director, Terrace Hill Foundation, in March 2006.
  • A photo shoot in the mansion and on the grounds for the 2006 catalog for Heritage Lace, a company in Pella, Iowa.
  • A live remote by the Van and Bonnie Show on WHO radio with a concert by the Arcadia Wind Quintet to promote Holly & Ivy in December 2005.
  • Photos of Terrace Hill on the cover of 2006 Warren’s maps of Des Moines.
  • A feature article on the stenciling in the summer 2005 issue of Paint Decor magazine.
