2007 Terrace Hill Endowment for the Musical Arts Competition Announced

The Terrace Hill Endowment for the Musical Arts [THEMA] piano competition is held annually and is open to high school seniors studying music throughout the state. Winners are awarded scholarships to be used to pursue college-level music studies in Iowa the following year. The purpose of the award is to promote Iowas young musicians and the outstanding collegiate music programs statewide.

The next THEMA competition will take place on Friday and Saturday, February 2 and 3, 2007. For more information on applying to THEMA, please call 515-281-3604 or send an e-mail to carla.herling@iowa.gov.

The finals of the senior competition, held at the studios of Iowa Public Television on Saturday, February 3, 2007, will be free and open to the public. Look for ticket information on IPTV in the months prior to the competition.
