Iowa Quarters Available in Limited NumbersBy Steve Person 2008 The last of the 50 commemorative state quarters Alaska, Arizona, Hawaii, New Mexico, and Oklahoma are now in circulation. Newspaper ads indicate that state quarters previously released are becoming rare because of collectors. However, the Terrace Hill Foundation has a limited number of certified, mint-condition release-date Iowa quarters available for purchase.
The Iowa quarter features Iowa artist Grant Woods image of a one-room schoolhouse with the inscription, Foundation in Education. This limited-edition, official release-date (September 3, 2004), Iowa Commemorative Quarter set is a mint-condition pair of uncirculated quarters including one from the Denver Mint and one from the Philadelphia Mint.
The quarters are displayed in a handsome mounting inside a clear case and come with a Certificate of Authenticity. Each set sells for $5, plus shipping and handling. The mint-condition Iowa quarters make wonderful gifts for grandchildren and graduates. They are appreciated not only by coin collectors, but also by people with connections to Iowa.
You may purchase the Iowa quarters from the Terrace Hill gift shop or from the Terrace Hill Foundation. For information regarding the Iowa quarters, contact Foundation Development Assistant Steve Person at 515-280-3450 or by
