Victorian Bus Tour Heads Southwest

2008

The Victorian Bus Tour to southwest Iowa will be September 23 24, 2008. The communities of Clarinda and Red Oak are the destinations. Plans are in the works for touring the Clarinda homes of Jessie Field Shambaugh, founder of 4-H, and the home of Big Band orchestra leader Glenn Miller. In Red Oak, the group will take the Heritage Hill Tour. Other potential locations being explored for the itinerary include the Montgomery County Historical Museum, the Murphy Calendar Company art exhibit, and railroad history. In addition, six families are extending their southern hospitality by opening their homes to the Terrace Hill Victorian Bus Tour.

The cost for the trip will be approximately $250 per person and includes four meals, lodging, and bus travel. Final details and cost will be available after May 10. For more information or to make your reservation, call Sharon Crees at 515-242-6317 or e-mail her at THSociety@aol.com.
