Prior to becoming the Governors Residence for the State of Iowa in 1971, this venerable Des Moines landmark was home to the Allen and Hubbell families. The cookbook acknowledges this legacy with contributions of recipes and stories from several Hubbell family members. Iowa’s current First Lady, Mari Culver, provides the books introduction.
